PETER DANIHEL

My name is Peter Danihel, an 18-year-old native BMX racer from Bratislava, Slovakia. My journey was, and still is, as dynamic as the sport itself - fast, technically demanding and full of determination. I am a professional athlete and a representative of Slovakia in BMX Racing, I am a multiple champion of Slovakia and a finalist in international and European competitions. My sportsmanship and passion are shown in every race, every jump and every sprint on my way to victory.

My story in a nutshell

Since I was two and a half years old, I was riding a bicycle without auxiliary wheels on a flat surface. My father introduced me to BMX Racing. I got my first BMX bike at the age of six. Guided by my father's hand, I started participating in races - I started with local races in Slovakia and over time, in addition to Slovak Cup races, I also started participating in Czech and European Cup races, where I won final and podium positions. Of course, I had many accidents and falls during my career, but even those did not discourage me from my passion for bicross and all my failures, accidents and falls pushed me forward.

In January of this year, I was diagnosed with a brain cyst and started treatment. From January to April of this year, I couldn't train properly and I didn't have an ideal preparation. In May I got a green card from the doctor and started training again. I knew that there was a World Championship in August, but I had to qualify for it from the European Cup race, which was not easy, but I managed to do it at the end. It was like jumping on a bandwagon and qualifying for the World Championships was pure fantasy. I had only three months of preparation for the World Championship and managed to win 37th place. I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved in such a short time. My goal is to improve and move forward and the main goal is to qualify for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Plans and Ambitions

With the ambition to surpass national achievements and embark on the path of international recognition, I direct my career towards even greater challenges. In 2024, I am moving from the "Junior" category to the "U23" category, where as the youngest participant I plan not only to compete, but also to win. I have the opportunity to train intensively in France under the supervision of a local coach. France is the cradle of BMX and many champions come from French tracks. My plan is to prepare there for top events such as the French Cup, the European Cup, the World Cup and the World Championship, in the coming months.

I intend to make my name and the sport that I have devoted myself to, for most of my life, visible, as well as the sponsor who will allow me financially to realize my plans. The ambitions I have are simple: win, dominate, inspire. At this moment, I am looking for a sponsor who will recognize my courage and potential and help me turn my dreams into reality.

Become a part of my story — a story where every obstacle overcome and cup won is not only my triumph, but yours as well. Let's join forces and climb to the top together — where we belong.
